Eren x Reader: Hanji's Experiment ~One-Shot~

*Reader's P.O.V*

My eye twitched as I read the sheet of paper in front of me.

Dear (Y/n),

    My experiment partner is sick so I need you to take his spot. I'll fill you in on what we're doing once you arrive. Don't worry you won't loose any limbs...probably....Hope to see you at 1:00!!! Thanks~!

                             From Hanji~

A sign escaped my lips as I fell back in my chair.
" Is everything okay, (Y/n)?" Mikasa asked walking out of the bathroom.
" Not exactly. Hanji wants me to be a part of her experiment today." I said annoyed.
" What is she having you do?" Mikasa asked.
" Not sure. She said she would explain once I showed up." I said.
" I'll ask her if I can be on stand by. I don't trust those titans even if they are chained down to the ground." Mikasa said.
" Don't worry. I'm sure Levi Heichou will be there as well." I said.
" I don't trust that shorty either." Mikasa said darkly.

" You still don't forgive him for beating up Eren, huh?" I asked.
" Not one bit." Mikasa hissed through her teeth. I stood up from my chair.
" I'm going to go down to the mess hall to get breakfast, wanna come with?" I asked.
" Sure, though you should probably change." Mikasa said pointing at my pj's, which were just knee low dark blue baggy shorts and a white t-shirt. I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head and laughed.

~Small time-skip~

After getting on my outfit and adjusting the world's most annoying straps.'
Whose idea was it to make these things anyway?!' I thought fixing the shoulder strap.
" You done yet?" Mikasa asked.
" Just a sec." I replied tying my (h/c) hair into a ponytail. I walked out of the bathroom, grabbed my jacket and headed out the door with Mikasa.

~At the mess hall~

When I got my so called meal, I headed to the table me, Mikasa, Eren, and Armin usually sit at.
" Good morning, everyone." I cheerfully said.
" Good morning, (Y/n)." Eren greeted.
" So how's it goin'?" I asked sitting down next to Armin and across from Eren.
" Good. I have to be in one of Hanji's experiment today, though." Eren said.
" Really!? Me too!" I exclaimed. Then Eren dropped his spoon."
Eren, Are you okay?" I asked shocked.
" Y-yeah I'm fine." Eren said picking his spoon back up. I knew he was lying but I decided not to speak up about it.

 After a few minutes of eating I felt someone put their arm around my shoulder.
" Hey there, (Y/n)." The person said.
' Oh god, not horse face.' I though in disgust.
" What do you want now, Jean?" I asked.
" Not much. How about you ditch these weirdo's and come sir over with me?" Jean asked.

I stood up from my seat.
" I rather die than sit next to a horse like you. Now go away before I rip your limbs off." I threatened darkly. I sat back down as Jean walked away with a shocked look on his face.
" Don't you think that was a bit much, (Y/n)?" Armin asked.
" Nope. Horse face had it comin'." I said. Then Eren bursted out into laughter.
" T-that was genius! The look on his face was priceless!" Eren shouted.
" T-thanks." I said with a small blush.

   Then we heard a voice that made us all freeze in fear.
" Would you mind shutting the fuck up, Jaeger. I'd like to eat my breakfast without listening to your annoying voice." Levi Heichou said. Eren stood up and gave him a salute.
" I'm so sorry, Levi Heichou! I'll make sure to keep my voice down!" Eren said frightened by the shorter male.
" You better, or it's stable duty for a week." Levi Heichou said before walking away.
" Man that was close." Eren said sitting back down. We all nodded in agreement.

~Time-skip to paper deliveries~

 I made my way down the hall carrying a huge stack off papers Levi Heichou gave to me.
" Deliver these papers to Hanji. It'll be easy." I said mocking his voice.
True his real words were;" Deliver this to shitty glasses. It's the most simplest job I got so don't fuck it up".

" This is more like a mountain of papers instead of a stack." I said in annoyance.
" (Y/n)! There you are!" I heard Hanji shout.
" I swear to god Hanji if you attempt to hug me right now I.will.murder.you." I threatened.
" Don't worry I won't." Hanji said taking the stack of papers from my arms.
" Thanks, Hanji-San. I felt like my arms were about to fall off!" I groaned rubbing my sore arms.
" You're welcome. You looked like you were having a pretty hard time." Hanji said.
" Blame it all on the French shorty." I said. Hanji laughed at my statement.
" The experiment should be starting soon, so once I get these papers put away we'll head down there." Hanji said.
" What are we going to be doing exactly?" I asked.
" You'll have to wait a bit longer~." Hanji said. I gave out a huff of annoyance.

~At Hanji's office~

I sat in one of Hanji's lab stools as she figured out what binder each paper should go in.
" There's something I've been meaning to ask you, (Y/n)." Hanji said.
" What is it?" I asked.
" Do you like Eren?" Hanji asked. The question almost made me fall out of the stool.

" W-what makes y-you think t-that?!" I asked blushing.
" I don't know. Maybe the fact that you blush whenever he compliments you or how you're always starring at him during training~." Hanji said.
" I-I have no c-clue what you're talking about!" I shouted looking away.
" It's nothing to be ashamed about. There's a possibility he likes you back~." Hanji said.
" Probably not, I do get him in to trouble a lot." I said looking down.

" Actually it's his own fault he gets in trouble. Doing ridiculous stunts just to get your attention." Levi Heichou said standing in the doorway.
" Heichou?" I asked.
" I'm always having to get his attention because he's to busy starting at you. He even tried carving your name and his name into the wall of your guys favorite spot for gods sake, and you still don't believe he doesn't like you back?!" Levi Heichou asked.
" Well, I just always thought he thought of me as a friend." I said.
" Tch, believe me when I say this, he thinks of you as more than a friend." Levi Heichou said before he walked away.

I sat there in disbelief.
" Well there's the truth for ya." Hanji said.
" I never thought I'd hear Heichou say something like that." I said.
" Levi may be stubborn and cold a lot but trust me under all that meanness is a sweet and caring guy." Hanji said. I nodded.
" We should start heading down. Everyone's probably waiting." I said jumping off my stool. Hanji nodded and followed me out the door.

~At the Experiment site~

' I wonder why we're so far away from the HQ?' I thought looking at my surroundings.

All around me was a almost empty field and a couple of trees with the HQ far in the distance.
" Are you nervous?" I heard Eren ask. I turned around and saw Eren standing behind me.
" Y-yeah a little bit." I said.
" Don't be. If anything goes wrong Levi and Mikasa are here to help." Eren said in a comforting tone. I nodded.
" Is everyone ready?!" Hanji asked. Everyone replied with a yes.
" Alright! Eren go to the center of the field!" Hanji ordered.

Eren nodded and ran to where she was pointing.
" Hanji what's this experiment about anyway?" I asked.
" We're doing some experiments on Eren's Titan form." Hanji said.
" Huh?!" I asked.
" Don't worry it's not anything to extreme just some simple things like seeing if he can stand on one leg, clap his hands, etc." Hanji explained.
" What's my job in this experiment?" I asked.
" We're going to see if he can pick you up without harming you. I thought it would be best to chose you because he seems to have strong feelings towards you, so the chances of you getting hurt are very low. Even you do get injured its probably because he either dropped you by accident or the steam that comes off his body when he turns back into a human burns you." Hanji said.

" May I begin now?!" Eren asked.
" Yeah! Good luck!" Hanji shouted. Eren nodded and brought his hand up to his mouth.
" Here take these." Hanji said handing me a pair of goggles. I gave her a questioning look.
" Just in cause." Hanji said with a wink. I nodded and took the goggles.
 
   Once Eren bit his hand a huge cloud of steam surrounded him. A few seconds later we were all hit by a gust of wind.
When I opened my eyes back up I saw a 25 meter titan with long brown hair and green eyes standing in the middle of the field. My hands moving toward the blades of my 3DMG but I stopped myself remembering Eren was inside the Titan.

" Can you hear me, Eren?!" Hanji asked. Eren gave a grunt of approval.
" Alright, first I need you to raise you left arm like this!" Hanji shouted demonstrating. Eren did exactly what Hanji told him.
" Wow..." I whispered.
" Surprising isn't it?" I heard someone ask. I looked behind me and saw Commander Erwin
." G-good afternoon, Commander." I greeted giving him a salute.
" Good afternoon to you as well, Cadet (Y/n)." Commander Erwin said."
What are you doing here, Commander?" I asked.
" Just checking on how Hanji's experiment is going. He's pretty impressive, isn't he?" Commander Erwin asked.
" Yes, he is." I replied looking back at Eren.

  After about 10 minutes of Eren copying Hanji's movements and giggling every time Eren fell down, Hanji ran back over to me.
" Alright Eren, I need you to pick up (Y/n) without hurting her!" Hanji ordered. Eren nodded and put his hand down in front of me waiting for me to climb on. I looked back at Hanji with a worried expression.
" It'll be okay, remember what I told you." Hanji said with a gentle smile. I nodded and climbed onto Eren's hand. Eren lifted me up to his face. My heart was pounding, I've never been this close to a Titan's face before. I strengthened my grip on Eren's finger scared of falling down.

I heard Eren make a noise as if to tell me I'll be okay. I looked back at his face. Eren didn't look like all the titans I've seen before. His face was much more peaceful and calm. I slowly backed away from his finger and sat on his palm.
" This is pretty strange, ya know? Usually I fight Titans but here I am siting in ones palm having a conversation with it." I said chuckling. Eren gave me a questioning look.
" What's even more strange is right now I don't see you as a Titan. I see you as Eren Jaeger. A boy who's determined to do anything he puts his mind to. A boy who will do anything to keep his friends safe. A boy who never gives up even if he's on the verge of death. A boy I've grow to love." I said. I crawled closer to Eren's face. I put my hand and forehead on his check.
" I never told you this because I was scared of rejection but earlier someone told me you had feelings for me too. I was confused but I was also happy. Happy that you felt the same way I do. I love you, Eren. Even if you are a Titan-shifter. No matter what anyone says. No matter what happens. I will always love you." I said. Eren snuggled closer to me and I let out a laugh.

*Hanji's P.O.V*

" Isn't that just cute!" I squealed.
" It's about time she noticed." Levi said.
" Do you think Eren will remember once he turns back into a human?" Mikasa asked.
" Of course, he'll remember this moment till the day he dies." I said.
" If he doesn't I'll make sure to give him a good beating, maybe a good punch to the face will make him remember." Levi said.
" I usually don't allow anyone hurting Eren, but in that case you have my premission." Mikasa said. I laughed. (Y/n), you sure got one hell of a boyfriend to take care of. I'm counting on you to keep him safe. Don't let him do anything foolish.

~Time-skip~



I sat in the chair that was on the side of Eren's bed in the nurse's office. After 2 hours of waiting Eren's eyes slowly opened.
" Guys, he's waking up!" I shouted. Everyone fled to Eren's side.
" Where am I, and why are you guys so close my face?" Eren asked. We all back away a little bit.
" You're in the nurses office." Armin said.
" So...do you remember the experiment?! Do ya?! Do ya?!" Hanji asked jumping up and down.
" Experiment? What experiment?" Eren asked. I looked down.
' Of course he didn't remember. He never remembers what he does in his Titan experiments.' I thought with tears forming in my eyes.
" You know! Your Titan form, (Y/n), confessions!" Hanji shouted trying to trigger something.

" What's the point Hanji? Of course he doesn't remem-." I paused when I saw a huge blush on Eren's face.
" You don't think?" Krista asked.
" He actually remembers?!" Jean asked.
" E-Erem, Do you really?" I asked. Eren gave a small nod.

Then everyone let out a cheer.
" He remembers!" Connie shouted.
" Damn it Eren! You had us all worried there!" Reiner shouted. A huge smile appeared on my face.
" Y-you remember!" I shouted crying tears of happiness as I engulfed Eren in a huge. I cried into his chest.
" I was so scared. I thought all my words went to waste." I said.
" They didn't go to waste, (Y/n). I'm glad you told me all those this. I love you and nothing in the world can change those feelings." Eren said. I looked him in the eyes.
" I love you too." I said smiling. We slowly moved closer to each others faces until our lips met in a sweet and gentle kiss. Everyone began to cheer again. Nothing can change these feelings I have for you, Eren. I'll love you till the end of all time.
